Best Ultra Wide Gaming Monitor USA 2022
The LG 34GL750-B is an ultrawide gaming Monitor that hits a lot of the right notes and feels great while doing it. It’s 34-inch diagonal is huge and tops its gaming credentials with a smooth curve. And it’s not the only attractive feature that makes it a great buy. It supports AMD FreeSync and runs on an IPS panel. You also like the 1-millisecond response time and 144 GHz, all of which make it a great gaming monitor. Read more about Best Ultra Wide Gaming Monitor 2022.
The 34GL750-B also looks great from behind thanks to the beautiful ergonomic stand. For the price, this is a serious investment, which would greatly benefit from a built-in speaker and USB-C port.
Such an expansive screen always seems to disarm at first. Our review unit, the LG 34GL750-B ultrawide gaming monitor, has a massive 34-inch diagonal that stretches across the desktop, and the curve easily draws the eye. However, once you sit close, wide, curved screens become very practical.
It’s 3,800mm reach extends along a smooth arc, meaning you don’t suffer from image distortion, but rather the sides tilt the screen towards you, the same experience you get with the LG 34UC80-B. This is fantastic, it’s not distracting.
The 21:9 aspect ratio is more useful than what you get on a larger 4K screen; The extra width is great for movies and gives you extra screen real estate to work on. As described, this is great for gaming – racing titles are more immersive as the frames go by, FPS titles have more room to maneuver, and RTS and MOBA games get better. Get.
The panel is secured inside an attractive plastic casing, which is red with the back of the screen and part of the stand. Build quality is also good and the screen feels strong on the desktop despite its width. However, it does not face many disadvantages in LG’s design. The bezels around the panel are quite thick and this is a small aesthetic quirk.
For LG’s price, it means a 21:9 panel at 2,560 x 1,080. This is significantly lower than rival displays (both the AOC CU34G2X and BenQ PD3220U use 3440 x 1440), but it costs hundreds more than the LG 34GL750-B ultrawide gaming monitor.
Having low resolution has its cons and its pros. For example, the pixel density (per inch) of LG’s 82ppi isn’t very high: it’s possible to see pixels when you’re upside down, and the 3440 x 1440 screen has a sharp 110ppi density. Most games on those screens will look more attractive than the LG 34GL750-B.
The upside, though, is that playing most games on this screen is easy: a low pixel count means you don’t need a dazzling GPU to run the game smoothly, and this gives you enough headroom to take advantage of LG’s offerings too. 144Hz refresh rate.
Incorporating AMD’s FreeSync technology, this monitor runs at a low 50Hz and a high 144Hz. This means you’ll benefit when gaming between 50fps and 144fps. It’s superior to its higher-end rivals: the AOC CU34G2X has FreeSync, which also tops out at 144 Hz.
You can connect your PC to the monitor through a monitor and above or through two HDMI ports, and audio comes through a headphone jack, but it doesn’t include built-in speakers.
The LG 34GL750-B ultrawide gaming monitor is a solid performer in both gaming capabilities and efficiency. Its brightness level of 256 cd/m2 is within LG’s quoted figure and has increased from 0.19 cd/m2, meaning LG offers a contrast ratio of 1363:1. The higher the contrast ratio, the better. This means your colors will be vibrant and it helps give this monitor a wide range of different colors, even very similar shades will be easy to tell apart. And this noticeable black level makes dark colors stand out easily – most gaming monitors aren’t great when it comes to handling those inky stones.
Those credentials are essential for gaming and movies, so they are very important in such a panel. Reaction time is another important consideration for gaming screens, and LG delivers. Its 10.2ms average response time is excellent, anything under 20ms is fine for gaming.
If it weren’t for the 21:9 aspect ratio, which spans the material on a wide but narrow canvas, you’d otherwise mistake monitor for TV. Games like Hitman 2 look magnificent in this performance. Details are sharp, allowing you to easily see the thin lines of code sealed behind Agent 47’s Head 2. Shadows look great too, although some objects are obscured in the darker corners due to the impressive black levels of the monitor.
What makes the LG 34GL750-B a gaming spectacle is its 1 millisecond, 144 Hz reaction time. It also features AMD’s FreeSync technology that prevents screen tearing.
For the most part, though, this monitor is excellent, with a reasonable resolution and screen size combined with the solid build quality and solid features.
Our Rating | Well
The LG 34GL750-B is an excellent gaming monitor with a gorgeous 34-inch display that boasts a 1-millisecond response time, 144Hz refresh rate, and support for AMD FreeSync.
- Bright and vivid 34-inch curved screen
- Sharp 2560 x 1080 resolution
- Short response time, high refresh rate
- AMD supports FreeSync
- No built-in speaker
- USB-C port is missing
The LG 34GL750-B Ultra Wide Gaming Monitor is an excellent gaming monitor with a gorgeous 34-inch display that boasts a 1-millisecond response time, 144Hz refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync support. And unlike the LG 34UC89G-B, this 34-inch monitor has a pixel pack resolution (2560 x 1080) to match its size. Combine the rich feature set with exceptional performance and gorgeous beauty, complete with red accents, and it’s hard not to fall in love with the LG 34GL750-B.
But when you spend around $400 on a monitor, you have to expect perfection, which is inferior to the LG 34GL750-B. Not only does the monitor lack a built-in speaker, but LG has ditched USB-C to validate this investment in the future.
However, if you’re shopping on a budget, the 34GL750-B should top your list. However, I am looking for your future-proof option with a higher resolution for the same price, the LG 34WN80C-B offers a better resolution (3440 x 1440), USB-C port, and refresh rate at 144 Hz max. This is the mid-range gaming monitor for our Editors’ Choice.
