Best Pro Gaming Headset Xbox One USA 2022
Logitech designed its new Logitech G Pro X professional gaming headset with professionals and aspiring professionals in mind. The headset is streamlined, comfortable, and powerful, with most of its additional features heavily focused on ease of use for competitive crowds. In general, this may prevent more casual viewers from taking a look, but the Logitech G Pro X works with any system and costs $130: not a budget headset, but not as expensive as some considering other peripherals. While the Logitech G Pro X is by no means an ideal headset, it’s hard to get a good fit with it and the software can be a bit terse, it delivers in all the important categories. The game feels great, the headset is great for hours of use, and the microphone is surprisingly good, thanks to some nifty processing tricks. Logitech G Pro X doesn’t necessarily make you a stronger competitive gamer, however, it will give you all the tools you need to succeed.
The Logitech G Pro X professional gaming headset won’t be like anything Logitech has built before. A metal subframe supports 2 black plastic ear cups, each with a silver G logo circle on the outside. The headband features plenty of padding and elaborate stitching to keep everything in place. The two bungee cords connect the headband to the ear cups, giving the Logitech G Pro X a shapely business feel. Overall, the headset looks iconic enough to wear wherever you want but is slick enough to stand out from the rest of the crowd.
The Logitech G Pro X tournament may be a boon for gamers, but I see a lot of potential for emerging streamers, who aren’t quite ready to invest in a big, expensive setup just yet. One thing you just noticed is that the G Pro X offers a ton of options, depending on how you want to wear it and use it. You can connect it to devices via a 3.5-millimeter audio jack or use an included audio/mic splitter for gaming PCs. Best Pro Gaming Headset Xbox One 2022.
You can also connect the headset to a USB adapter, which you need if you want to take advantage of the software. The flexible microphone is completely detachable and you can swap the earmuffs between leather and foam. It’s hard to imagine a gamer that the Logitech G Pro X doesn’t feel comfortable with or work with that person’s existing hardware setup.
My only quibble here is that switching between foam and leather earmuffs is almost more trouble than it’s worth. The perfect fit and forgiving connections make it a challenge for the most agile audiophiles. This issue isn’t unique to the Logitech G Pro X, it’s even harder to fix on some audio headsets, but you don’t want to switch back and forth more often than you do.
Whether you choose foam or leather earmuffs, the Logitech G Pro X Professional Gaming Headset is a joy to wear. (I went with foam; sound quality isn’t great, but it’s not that hot, either.) The ear cups rest smoothly on your ears, even if you wear glasses, and the device is heavy. Less is manageable 11.3 oz.
However, to feel comfortable, you also need the Logitech G Pro X to fit well, which is not that easy. The headset is a bit stiff to adjust while it stays on your head, leading to a frustrating process of taking it off and trying again and again. There are marked markings, which make it easy to measure and maintain your position, but it is still very difficult to find a setting that works since it is unique. A colleague of mine also spends some time with the Logitech G Pro X headset and usually shares his cut with me about it. They thought the earphones were lightweight and felt comfortable, although they were a bit on the right side. He also preferred the Foam Year Cup, which is worth it.
Since the Logitech G Pro X professional gaming headset is considered a tournament-ready headset, it was important to see how well it performed with competitive genres like FPS and RTS. In Overwatch, I was able to hear an active shout for each ability, the direction of each enemy’s attack, and the satisfying pulse of each weapon’s bullets. In Age of Empress: Definitive Edition, every battle alarm was punctured loud and clear by the sound of war elephants’ swords and trumpets. The G Pro X provides a refined, nuanced sound that complements competitive gaming.
But he’s also not in any of the headline titles. The orchestral score in the Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragon sphere is well balanced with my party members, and the sound effects and voice work rang loud and clear in World of Warcraft. (This headset can be especially useful for MMOs, think of this as Mike is pretty good. There will be a lot about him soon.) Best Pro Gaming Headset Xbox One 2022.
While the G Pro X is primarily a PC headset, I also had good experiences playing Final Fantasy VII on Switch to PS4 and Assassin’s Creed genesis. Thanks to its 3.5mm audio jack, the headset works with any system. This is good if you don’t have a strong preference between PC and console gaming.
The audio cable on the Logitech G Pro X professional gaming headset has been shortened to about half the volume dial and microphone mute buttons. I asked a Logitech engineer why the company went with this design instead of the headset’s volume dial. He replies that professional players like it there, although there is no real mechanical reason for their preference; This is something they are used to doing.
The Logitech G Pro X’s biggest innovation, though, is blue voice processing for its microphone. If you install the Logitech G Hub software, you can activate a filter, courtesy of high-end audio company Blue. You’ll use software rendering to clarify your voice, with a variety of equation options.

On his own, Mike is fine. It recorded my voice, without blurring, and with enough volume. But it also looked quite flat and blurry. This is where the functionality of Blue Voice comes into play. Turn on Blue Voice, then select the type of voice you want (a soft, high voice, a high, low voice, or anything else), and then present what you say to the G Hub software, in real-time.
With Blue Voice turned on, my recording didn’t quite achieve podcast-level quality, but the sound wasn’t that crazy either. The Logitech G Pro X tournament can be a boon for gamers, but I see a lot of potential for streamers who aren’t ready to invest in a big, expensive setup just yet.
One thing I particularly appreciated about the Logitech G Pro X is that it doesn’t skimp on music performance like many gaming headsets, surprisingly in this price range. The tone can be a bit brittle, but since you can also play with equivalent settings, this is not a problem. Otherwise, the highs, lows, and vocals blended to create a nice, balanced soundscape. If you’re not “rich” at all, you’re not far off.
I played Fogging Molly, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Rolling Stones, and G.F. Handel, at home and on the go, and I was so pleased that the sound quality across the board was something you’d hear in a decent, cheap pair of audio headphones. Keep in mind, however, that the Logitech G Pro X headset is not flat, making it a bit of a hassle to carry the headset around as it can be.
Our Rating | Excellent
If you’re a competitive PC gamer, pick up Logitech G Pro X, a professional surround-sound gaming headset, for $130. If you can live without fancy microphone features, then a $100 competitive headset should do just fine.
- Excellent sound quality
- Comfortable construction
- Useful Microphone Features
- Difficult to get a good fit
- Not easy to transport
The Logitech G Pro X professional gaming headset looks great, looks appealing, and offers plenty of useful features. The headset is well suited for the up-and-coming tournament player but is also completely comfortable and functional if you want to sit back at home and immerse yourself in a single-player session. At $130, it’s a bit more expensive than comparable models like the SteelSeries Arctis 5 or the Razer Kraken Tournament Edition, but it’s much more attractive and possibly more feature-rich. Best Pro Gaming Headset Xbox One 2022.
The Logitech G Pro X is an easy recommendation, as long as you’re willing to spend $30 more than most headphone makers, order such a device. But what you get in return is more than the price of admission.
